Buying mail order from Veggie Guides

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Shopping Cart" (top right) and you will be asked for your address and payment details.

We accept debit and credit cards and PayPal. If you are shopping from outside the United Kingdom, place your order and your credit card company or bank will convert the transaction to your own currency.

If you found us in the PETA mall, please mention this in "How did you find our site" and we will pay a commission to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. If you have a website and would like to receive commission on referral business, join our affiliate scheme

Shipping And Handling

In UK first book £3.50, then £1.50 per book.
Airmail to Europe £5.20 first book, then £2.60 per book.
Airmail to Rest of World, £7.00 first book, then £3.00 per book.
(£1 is around US$1.30 or 1.15 euros)

Delivery Schedule

We will normally process your order within 2 business days.
Airmail to Europe takes 3 to 5 days.
Airmail orders to North America normally take 5 - 7 days.. Increased security may cause some postal delays in USA.
Airmail to Australia is about 7 days.

Note that airmail to USA and Australia occasionally takes up to 2 weeks, particularly if heavy snow creates backlogs of mail.
If you are travelling immediately we can ship to your hotel or quote you for express mail, DHL or Datapost. On request we will email you a few pages of our own books (Britain, Scotland, France, London, North of England, East of England, Europe) to help you plan your trip while awaiting delivery, or the Vegan Passport if it does not arrive before your departure.

Back Orders

Our own books (London, North of England, Paris, Campaign Against Cruelty, Scoffer cookbooks) are always in stock. Very occasionally we are out of stock of other books for a few days. If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. We can immediately refund your credit card or Paypal account at no cost to you.

Tax Charges

All books shipped from the UK are exempt from tax.

Credit Card Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. Credit card payments are handled on our behalf by Paypal, the world's largest internet payment processor, who notify us when your payment has cleared. If you pay by Paypal, Visa, Mastercard or American Express, this will be almost instantaneous. Payment by echeque may take a few days to clear. In the case of areas with high levels of fraud and chargeback, in particular West Africa, we reserve the right to delay despatching an order until Paypal confirm that the order is genuine.

If you prefer not to give your credit card details over the internet, you can fax, snail mail or email (e.g. as two emails) your credit card details to us, or request that we telephone you and suggest a convenient time, and we will process your payment manually, or you can send us a sterling cheque drawn on a UK bank or international money order, or bank transfer, or make a Paypal payment direct to us. Please contact us for details before doing this.

Guarantee

We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a 30 day "no quibble guarantee". This is in addition to your statutory rights.

Vegetarian Guides will not cover the costs of the return, unless goods were damaged or faulty, and only items in perfect condition, suitable for resale, can be returned.

Please ensure you provide Vegetarian Guides with your reason for return.

If any goods are faulty or damaged when you receive them, we will arrange for them to be replaced or refunded. Delivery charges for damaged or faulty goods or errors made by us will be fully refunded and/or not charged.

Trade orders

If you would like to order books for resale, please contact us for a quotation and our terms. Bookshops in UK, Ireland and North America please contact our distributors or your usual wholesaler.

Vegetarian Guides do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. At a future date we may email you once to ask if you would like to opt in to our email vegan travel newsletter or to tell you about the publication of a new edition of a book you have previously ordered. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.
