Press Release - 3rd December 2002
BRITAIN – VEGETARIAN HEAVEN !!
The second edition of Vegetarian Britain, the best-selling guide to everything vegetarian for Britain and Ireland’s 5 million veggies, has just been published. There are over 100 vegetarian guest houses in Britain - Cornwall, Cumbria, Scotland and Wales all have 9 or more - but you’ll never find most of them without this guide.
Vegetarian Britain features over 400 scrumptious vegetarian restaurants, cafes and takeaways and a further 100 ethnic eateries with big veggie menus. There are also 200 vegetarian and veggie friendly hotels, as well as wholefood and cruelty-free shops, mail order, juice bars and local veggie groups.New in this edition:
We don’t do the usual naff reviews by a person who’s tasted one dish at 1,000 restaurants in 3 months. Instead we list all the nice looking vegan dishes with prices, and get as much info as we can from local veggies who eat there all the time. We don’t judge. If a place isn’t up to standard we leave it out. We figure if it’s still open someone likes it, so we give enough info for the students to pick the cheapie places, the couples to spot the ones with candles, and the business types to know where to go to impress. Of course if a place delights everyone we might rave about it.
“This guide to Vegetarian Britain is one of the brightest ideas we’ve come across in a long time. It’s a little cracker of a book which tells you where to find really good vegetarian food – from a snack to a slap up gourmet meal.” –
