Press Release - November 2000 Immediate

GET SET FOR THE VEGGIE INVASION OF EUROPE

Vegetarian Guides launches Vegetarian Europe

Europe is set to see a new invasion – of independent veggie travellers – following the publication of Vegetarian Guides Ltd latest travel guide, Vegetarian Europe, on 1 November 2000. The UK’s 3 million vegetarians will no doubt welcome this companion guide to the successful and established Vegetarian London, Vegetarian Britain and Vegetarian France from the same publisher.

Vegetarian guides was founded by Alex Bourke in 1997 to produce well researched and commercially viable travel guides for vegetarians – the veggie answer to Rough Guides and Lonely Planet. With Vegetarian Europe in his or her pocket, the independent veggie traveller can step forth into the world secure in the knowledge that they’ll never again need to take a packed lunch or practice ‘un sandwich au fromage s’il vous plait’ in their best school French.

Alex Bourke understands the need of vegetarians well: he is a vegetarian of many years’ standing and a member of the Vegan Society’s national council. Alex has travelled extensively in Europe, is multilingual, and has many ‘spies’ on the Continent who monitor the veggie marketplace for him.

The 288 page Vegetarian Europe features 300 fabulous vegetarian restaurants, cafés and take-aways in Europe’s top 40 destinations from Amsterdam to Zurich. Vegetarian Europe is more than just a travel guide – it represents the first complete and accurate account of the booming vegetarian food industry. Well researched by 19 bilingual ‘away teams’ who have eaten in cities where no veggies thought they could eat before, this authoritative and entertaining guide is clearly the essential travelling companion for any vegetarian or meat reducer.

So if you want to know where to get a delicious vegetarian meal in Paris for a fiver or the best vegetarian eatery in Evora look no further than Vegetarian Europe.

Vegetarian Europe, along with Vegetarian London, Vegetarian Britain and Vegetarian France is available from www.vegetarianguides.co.uk priced £9.99 / US$16.95 or from all good bookshops throughout Britain, Ireland and North America.
